Faro was the card game that filled the saloons of the frontier, and it was played with a standard deck and a layout printed on the table. The reproduction sets in the catalog put that layout on period style cards, which is a cheap way to finish a saloon vignette without another gun on the shelf.
A card table display works because it gives the eye something to read at close range. Put the layout in the centre, a revolver at the edge of the felt and a stack of chips beside it, and the scene explains itself. Keep the cards out of direct sun; the printing fades faster than the felt.
Are these real playing cards?
They are reproduction period style cards with a faro layout, made for display and play.
Do they come with the chips?
Check the product page: the sets vary, and some include counters.
