Is there any question that the Colt Gov’t / M1911 is the most popular pistol in the world? Not only is it a work of art, but it is also known for its reliability, serviceability, and simplicity. Since it is one of my fave guns, I decided to do a side-by-side comparison of my Colt 1911 with the Japanese-made 01-300 non-firing replica 1911. I am impressed with this replica, as it is a very good copy of the real thing. In fact, as I mentioned in the video, the slide spring on the replica is softer than on my real 1911. Personally, this makes the replica more fun to just mess around with, as I actually can release the slide with just my thumb- something I can’t do with my real 1911. HistoricReplicaGuns.com carries this 1911 replica (01-300) along with many other nifty World War II-era replicas.
